Life can be difficult, the road sometimes takes long and dark detours, but keeping your eyes ever upward and your heart within His hands, He sees us through.

I lost a very good friend to cancer last year, she was young, full of life and a wonderful mother. We had been very good friends since Blue Mountain Academy. She was my Maid of Honor and I was hers. We talked on the phone often, even though we lived miles apart. I always looked forward to hearing her voice and listening to her speak about her children, she loved them SO much. She was like a sister to me and now that she is gone, I realize how much she really meant. I miss her and some days, I find myself enjoying memories of our families experiences together. She will always be missed. I look forward to the day, when we can be reunited in heaven.

I praise God because there is more than this earth and what it offers. God has a place for His children with no more tears or pain. So as I take each day, I look beyond the blue skies... and long for His return! I know one day, we will understand why she had to die, but for now we keep looking into our Saviours eyes, and give Him praise, for conquering death and giving us the gift of eternal life through Jesus, His only begotten Son!

Reflections

Sometimes it’s so calming to experience the warm sun and a cool breeze gust across my face. It feels so warm, embracing my soul. The fresh smell of ocean water and sea gulls souring in the wind are relaxing and invigorating moments I relish.

God wants us to take time and enjoy the natural beauty He has provided to nurture our health. I believe this is why He created Sabbath. A 24 hour gift from above each and every week! Not just one hour but 24! A gift of time for reflection, healing and seeking His face. He understands we need this day, the Sabbath, in order to receive His strength, to revitalize our souls each week.

A good example would be like driving a car and never stopping to refuel, change the oil, or just let the engine rest. God knows what we need, he created us. Resting in Him is like following the owner’s manual. Ignore it and the car falls apart. God’s word is our Manuel, He is our Creator and if He says we need rest, we need to listen!

When I think of the Sabbath, it gives me peace. I know my body will have 24 hours to stop the usual everyday work and spend downtime with God. When I am in His presence, He is giving me new life.

So take the gift of 24! Experience new life you can enjoy for each and every week by resting in His Presence.
